Community Resource Checklist.

If you have a child with sensory needs, it might feel like a challenge to set them up for success with community activities. For example, if your child has specific sensory aversions or requires sensory input during a task/event, as a parent, you will want to convey that to whoever might be spending time with your child. Below is a community resource checklist that families can fill out on their own or with a therapist. The idea is that this checklist would be printed or filled out on an index sized card that could be given to a soccer coach, Sunday school leader, teacher, family friends, babysitter, or even a neighbor that watches your child. The handout will provide insight into how your child behaves and interacts within different environments. It can help bring peace to both you as a parent and whoever is taking responsibility to monitor your child.
